We are delighted to announce that NEL Training Hub has become an official partner of the Beating Bias initiative, a groundbreaking research project led by Professor Julie Sanders at King’s College London (KCL).
Beating Bias is a James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership focusing on cardiovascular disease (CVD) in women — an area of significant importance across North East London, where health inequalities remain a persistent challenge. The project aims to identify and rank research priorities that will shape the future of women’s cardiovascular care.
As a partner, NEL Training Hub will help amplify the reach of this vital research across our networks, ensuring that clinicians, educators, and communities in North East London can contribute to shaping national research priorities.
TAKE PART | Women’s Heart Health Survey
As part of the Beating Bias initiative, the research team at KCL is currently running Survey 1, which invites clinicians and members of the public — particularly those from under-represented populations — to share their views on research priorities for CVD in women.
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and your voice genuinely matters. Responses will directly inform the long-list of priorities that will be ranked in Survey 2 later this year.

Please do share this widely with your colleagues, patients, and networks — especially those from communities that are often under-represented in cardiovascular research.
For more information about the Beating Bias project, visit the KCL website or contact the project manager, Meenal Patel, at meenal.patel@kcl.ac.uk.
