A referral process from General Practice to a Community Pharmacy. Pharmacy First has been developed and rolled out successfully both nationally and within NEL. To allow GPs to create additional capacity giving them more time and focus to see patients who would otherwise be required to wait longer for appointments.
To enable pharmacist to utilise their skills and knowledge to further service the local community instead of booking GP appointments for minor illness and common conditions.
