Academic GP Advanced Fellowship – Applications Now Open
Closing date: 31 March 2026
Applications are now open for the Academic GP Advanced Fellowship, a five-year programme delivered in partnership between Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB).
This exciting opportunity is designed for GPs who are interested in combining clinical practice with academic development in primary care research and health data science. Fellows will work in a 50:50 portfolio role, spending half their time in general practice and half within the Clinical Effectiveness Group at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health at QMUL.
During the programme, fellows will develop skills in health data, research methods, and quality improvement, undertake modules from the Health Data in Practice MSc, and lead their own research projects with expert academic supervision.
Successful applicants will be matched with a GP practice in Barking & Dagenham, Havering, or a neighbouring North East London borough.
