London Metropolitan University Nursing Student Placements – Expression of Interest
The North East London Training Hub is pleased to support London Metropolitan University in identifying placement opportunities across primary care, community health, and care home settings for undergraduate nursing students. Due to the close geographical links between North East London organisations and the university, this presents a valuable opportunity for practices and providers to support the future nursing workforce while benefiting from additional learner capacity within teams.
Placement Overview
London Metropolitan University is seeking placement providers for BSc Adult and Mental Health Nursing students undertaking six-week, full-time placements:
- Year 1 placement: 20 April – 29 May 2026
- Year 2 placement: 27 April – 5 June 2026
- Students can support a range of supervised activities aligned broadly to Healthcare Assistant–level competencies, with learning outcomes tracked via the university’s electronic practice assessment document (ePAD).
Funding : Placement tariff: £160 per student per week (37.5 hours, no VAT)
Practice Assessor Requirements: Practice Assessors must be a registered professional on the same part of the NMC register as the student programme. NMC registration is required. A named Practice Assessor is required for each student.
Practice Assessor Training: Pan-London recorded ePAD Practice Assessor training available online. Approximate duration: 2 hours. Additional training support can be provided by the university where required.
Governance and Agreements: Placement providers will be required to complete: Placement Agreement and Statement of Support, For non-NHS organisations: confirmation of Employer Liability Insurance and Health & Safety policy details, University indemnity arrangements are included within the placement agreement framework.
