Title: Receptionist
Accountable To: The Practice Partners
Reports To: Head Receptionist & Practice Manager
Job Summary: To assist in the smooth running of reception and ensure the delivery of a high-quality primary health care to all patients.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
1. To answer the phones in a courteous manner.
2. To book both telephone triage appointments and routine appointments for patients and deal with patient queries in a polite and helpful manner.
3. To ensure that all messages are taken properly as per the practice protocol.
4. To book ambulance and interpreters when required as per practice protocol.
5. To scan all correspondence relating to patients and either allocate to a clinician or assign to medical records as appropriate.
6. To collate medical records for summarizing.
7. To do photocopying when required.
8. To log visits on screen as per practice protocol and print out profiles.
9. To ensure courier post and samples are ready for courier to collect.
10. To pull notes for clinicians when required.
11. To ensure all doctors and nurses rooms are stocked adequately with stationery and other relevant supplies e.g. bedrolls, blue towel, tissue etc.
12. To ensure reception and waiting room is tidy.
13. To keep up to date with practice protocol in all areas relating to the smooth running of reception.
14.. To attend and contribute to reception meetings and staff/doctor meetings.
15. To open up premises and set up for the early morning appointments.
16. To ensure all the doors, windows, skylights are locked at the end of day and alarm up premises.
