DESCRIPTION:When allegations are made against staff or volunteers who work with children\, organisations need to be aware of their statutory duties. This course aims to inform participants of what these duties are\, how the LADO Process works and how to complete internal investigations both inside and outside of this process. \nTraining Level: 3 \nLearning Outcomes: \nBy the end of the course the learners should be able to: \n  \n\nKnow what to do when an allegation is made.\nHave a good understanding of LADO threshold and the process in general.\nProvide support and assistance to employees during the process.\nComplete internal investigations into allegations that fall both inside and outside of the LADO Framework.\n\nReview / Develop a policy for the Management of Allegations for their Organisation.

DESCRIPTION:Background: \nThe course will inform and ensure that practitioners\, volunteers and managers understand safer recruitment procedures and are able to consider organisational safeguarding from a wider perspective. \nTraining Level: 3 \nLearning Outcomes: \nBy the end of the 2 hour workshop the learners should be able to: \n\nIncrease their awareness of child protection cases that have influenced current policy and procedures around staff recruitment\nConsider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting/safer recruitment procedures;\nUnderstand the role of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)\nConsider safeguarding in an organisational context\nBe able to approach safeguarding audits using a ‘Safer Workforce Cycle’ model.
