Well just try our FREE training workshop and see for yourself.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur FREE Deaf Awareness training is a great opportunity for you and your staff to break down the barriers that most deaf people face by developing Deaf Awareness and accessibility.\nWHY DO YOU NEED TO BE DEAF AWARE?\nDid you know that in the UK\, 1 in 6 people have some degree of hearing loss? that’s about 10 million people!\nBeing deaf aware is a great way to promote inclusion and improve access for all deaf people and those with a hearing loss.\nOur workshop will introduce the issues and barriers faced by deaf people and in turn highlight strategies to improve your understanding of the challenges facing Deaf people.\nHOW WILL THIS BENEFIT ME?\nEDS aims to ensure all participants gain the best experience possible to support them in understanding Deaf Awareness.\nParticipants will come away with easy to remember communication tips and some basic knowledge of some British Sign Language all of which can be instantly put to use in their workplace improving support to those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.\nThis will ensure more effective communication with colleagues\, customers and service users who are affected with a hearing loss\, in activities and everyday situations.\nWHO ARE EMPOWERING DEAF SOCIETY?\nWe are a deaf-led Charity based in East London\, dedicated to improving the quality of life for deaf people. Our aim is to ensure that the standards of Access improve for deaf people. DESCRIPTION:Learning to Advise Course for social prescribing link workers and similar roles.\n\nOver recent years your feedback and reporting have shown that a significant proportion of social prescribing clients and those with mental health issues have issues with housing\, welfare benefits claims\, debt\, cost of living\, immigration and similar issues. \nThis free training has been designed to equip social prescribing link workers and similar roles in North East London with detailed knowledge of these issues\, how to ask clients about them\, understand the implications and how to support clients to access the right support and advice in their borough. \nThe course is studied over 12 half and full day on-line and in-person sessions between September 25 and February 26\, with a time commitment of approx. 2 days a month. \nThe Learning to Advise course opens a career pathway to an enhanced social prescribing role with a specialism in social welfare advice\, through the option of studying a follow-on training in 2026\, which consists NVQ level 3 in Advice and Guidance with a training placement. \nFind out more at one of our INFORMATION WEBINARS\nThursday 26th June\, 12:30-1:30 and Wednesday 16th July\, 3:00-4:00 \nPlease note\, no prior knowledge of the topics is needed or assumed to study the Learning to Advise Course.

This is due to: \n\nThe high volume of applications for some of the training\, which comes in at a faster rate than can be effectively managed in real time.\nIncomplete or missing information that means your application will be rejected.\nFinding that you have applied for inappropriate training for your job role.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPreparing for the Training Session \n\nOnly apply for training you are eligible for.\n\n\nCheck you have the joining link a minimum of 48hrs before the start date and time.\n\n\nIf you do not have a link – first check your junk email folder – then email nelondonicb.cpd@nhs.net.\n\n\nComplete any pre-training work you have been sent.\n\n\nIf you are asked for an address for physical training materials\, give your home address – they will not be posted to your work.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring the Training Session \n\nLogin a minimum of 15 mins before the training session starts (then go to the loo and make a cuppa).\n\n\nCheck you have a working camera and microphone\, and in a place you can fully interact.\n\n\nMobile phone use is not allowed – however some providers use them for interactive elements\, such as quizzes.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCancellation Policy \n\nSome training sessions are very popular and so will have a 2 week cancellation notice date.\n\n\nSome training sessions allow for larger numbers and/or are more niche and have a 1 week cancellation notice date.\n\n\nThe date will always be on the booking page and on your confirmation email from nelondonicb.cpd@nhs.net.\n\n\nTo cancel\, please use your MedTribe account. If you need further help\, email neldondonicb.cpd@nhs.net\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDNA Policy – Things that count as a DNA \n\nIf you email to cancel after the final cancellation date detailed in your confirmation email.\n\n\nIf you cannot login before the training ‘room’ is locked\, and you have not emailed nelondonicb.cpd@nhs.net a minimum of 15 minutes before the start of the training.\n\n\nIf you are ejected from a training session because you are using an inappropriate device.\n\n\nIf you book on training that is not appropriate for your job role\, and try to attend – there will not be 2 chances if this is the case\, you will be removed from all further training.\n\n\nIf you have not received the joining link / cannot find the joining link\, but you have not emailed nelondonicb.cpd@nhs.net a minimum of 48hrs before the training date and time.\n\n\nIf the emails are in your junk email folder and you have not checked this.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDNA Policy – What happens when you DNA \n\n1st DNA: You and your Manager will receive an email informing you that you have DNA’d a pre-booked session without cancellation.\n2nd DNA: You will automatically be removed from any further CPD training for the current financial year. You and your Manager will receive confirmation of this by email.\n\n\nYou will have an opportunity to appeal\, but please read the DNA Policy – Things that count as a DNA page first.\nIf you have to cancel your place later than 5 full working days prior to the start of the session\, please email nelondonicb.cpd@nhs.net explaining your exceptional circumstances\, and these will be taken into consideration when deciding whether it counts as a DNA.
