This session is open to all General Practice staff across North East London. \n‘Let’s Discuss Race’ (half day virtually delivered) \nWed 20th Nov 0930 – 1230\nTues 3rd Dec 0930 – 1230\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \n*Only required to attend one session* \nJoin us for a new workshop: “Let’s Discuss Race.” This interactive session is designed for local Health and Care staff\, where you’ll engage in conversations that foster a deeper understanding of the obstacles that may hinder open discussions about race. SUMMARY:Supporting Those Bereaved Through Suicide (3 hour virtual delivery)
DESCRIPTION:Various dates from Sept 2024 – Dec 2024 \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nThis half day workshop aims to improve knowledge\, skills and understanding in supporting those bereaved through suicide. The partnership are working with Rosedale Training\, to deliver these workshops. Previous attendees to this training demonstrated a real desire to make a real difference to the suicide statistics and better help and support those who have been bereaved through suicide. \n  \nAims of the training will be; \n• For delegates to feel confident supporting those who have been bereaved through Suicide \n• To be able to use appropriate language. \n• Understand what may and may not be helpful. \n• Be familiar and confident using The Help Is at Hand book. \n• Be able to signpost to other organisations who offer specialist support if required. \n  \nYou will be required to provide a postal address for learning materials to be sent to you. Note\, although the workshop is funded\, there will be DNA charge of £75 enforced if you fail to turn up following booking. \n  \n“This was a very thought provoking training which I will definitely recommend to others that I work with” \n

DESCRIPTION:1 Day Training Programme for HCAs who Wish To Undertake NHS Health Checks \nWeds 4th Dec 2024\, 0930 – 1630 | Weds 15th Jan 2025\, 0930 – 1630 \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nThis online session is aimed at HCAs who are new to NHS health checks but already have competence in undertaking physiological measurements \nThis session will ensure leaners: \n\nhave an understanding of the NHS Health Check programme and its role in CVD prevention\n\n\nunderstand the different components of an NHS Health Check\nknow how to complete the various risk assessments and interpret the results where appropriate\nunderstand and develop skills  to communicate and discuss results\nunderstand when you need to take further action\, e.g. highlight results to a GP for further action and/or give lifestyle advice\n\nThe session is delivered in fun interactive way and uses scenario based examples for learners to work through before returning to practice where learners will be supervised to complete their areas of competence \nLeaners will need access to IT which includes a microphone and camera\, and will be emailed some resources they will need for the session.
