DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER  \nOverview: This web workshop will support the delegates understanding of the role\, responsibilities and competencies to enable the delivery of enhanced care navigation and will look in turn\, at supporting the development of these skills specific to your locality.  \nAt the enhanced care level staff are expected to have a good level of expertise in customer care and a background of working in a healthcare environment and some experience of the active signposting.  \nEnhanced care navigators may be expected to provide detailed knowledge of the localities service directory and support and train other frontline members of the primary care team  \nThe learning outcomes of the workshop:  \n\nDelegates will understand the principles of Enhanced Care Navigation \nThey will understand the benefits of supporting and enabling healthier behaviours and self-care for patients. \nExplore conversational techniques and build on communications techniques introduced at the active signposting training\, such as active listening\, motivational conversations and dealing with difficult conversations. \nThey will gain an understanding of how to work across a range of service providers and develop skills in forming and maintaining professional relationships and network across organisations and clinical specialists. \nWill understand the potential complexities and risks. \nThey will provide a degree of independent\, autonomous working and will work effectively alongside the clinical Care Navigation lead. \n\nWho should attend?  \nAttendees will be experienced active sign posters who want to take the role further and act as Care Navigation Champion within an individual practice.  \nThe web workshop aims to:  \n\nImprove patient and carer experience. \nHelp reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and GP attendance\, without necessarily incurring higher costs. \nProvide an opportunity to update and extend knowledge of local services. \nExplore the role of advocate for signposting within the practice. \n\nTraining Provider: Practice Managers Association (PMA)

SUMMARY:Suicide First Aid Lite (virtually delivered 4hr workshop)
DESCRIPTION:If you cannot attend the face to face training\, there is also the opportunity to attend the virtually delivered Suicide First Aid Lite – standard course and a youth version available. The half day course giving learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive. \nSFA Lite is comprised of 4 hours\, interactive\, small group workshop accredited by City & Guilds. The programme teaches the skills needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and to pass the person onto a suicide first aider. Suicide First Aid Lite (Virtual) training offers learning outcomes that are knowledge based and factual. This training can be used as a stand-alone programme or as the first part of a journey to learn suicide prevention skills. An Adults and Children’s version of the course is available. Please refrain from booking on both as there are significant overlaps in the content. \nMethods of delivery:\nTaught over half day using tutor facilitated socratic learning\, tutor-led role- play\, mini lectures\, group work and audio-visual presentations. This is a has some interactive elements and is an emotionally engaging learning experience \nPre-training requirement\nNo previous experience or training is necessary. Participants will be asked to self-reflect and empathise with a person having thoughts of suicide. \nWho should attend?\nMulti-sector practitioners including health\, housing\, social care\, education\, criminal justice\, call centre operators\, private\, voluntary and public sector workers and community members. \nNOTE there is a £90 charge that will be enforced for failure to turn up following booking\, or cancellations less than 10 days prior to course. There is a fixed cost commitment that is irrecoverable to secure learning materials. DESCRIPTION:Open to staff working in General Practice in North East London \nDue to demand the NEL Training Hub are pleased to offer a third and final cohort of this new 6 day programme to new and aspiring Practice and PCN managers. The programme delivered online commences on the 22nd Oct\, with final session on 25th January 2025. Each session has a mixture of practical/interactive exercises. All learners on the programme have access to 1:1 coaching input throughout the programme virtually.
