Sarah now works as a Learning and Development Practitioner\, and the Mental Health faculty Lead for ‘Training for Mental Health’. Sarah has in recent years led on the delivery of Mental Health & Suicide Prevention training to the workforce of North East London. She is a licensed trainer of many national and internationally accredited programmes including Mental Health First Aid packages for Adult and Youth\, safeTALK\, ASIST\, Suicide First Aid and The ASK (assessing suicide in kids) Workshop. DESCRIPTION:Audience: Administration and Reception staff \nVirtual workshop for those who have the undertaken the Introduction to Medical Terminology who have a good understanding of the component parts of medical terminology. Use of a standard set of terms and phrase is critical for clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals in order to enable universally consistent communications within the practice and across the Primary Care Network and the wider health services. The use of standardised medical terminology also helps improve the quality of patient care by ensuring that the same words will always mean the same things to all medical employees. \nAll participants will be able to apply the learning to every-day situations back in the practice. The workshop builds on the skills of the administration\, clerical and clinical support staff and will enhance their understanding of medical terminology. It provides a continuation of the professional development for staff working in a clinical environment such as HCAs\, physiotherapy assistants\, assistant practice managers\, practice pharmacy assistants\, and those responsible for clinical coding etc. Participants will further enhance their confidence\, their communication skills and service delivery. DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 15th March\, 13.30 – 15.15 | Thursday 27th April\,  13.30 – 15.15  \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nNEL Training Hub are pleased to offer an introduction to Trans Awareness for Reception and Admin staff working in General Practice across North East London. \nThis introductory session touches on below areas to develop understanding and empathy for those interacting with Trans identities: \n• Set the wider context for trans identities – how sex\, gender and sexual orientation interact\n• Explore key terms and uses of language\n• Offer basic grounding in the legislation around the rights and responsibilities around trans identities\n• Begin to explore how an organisation can ensure it is being trans-inclusive\n• Provide links to a wide range of resources \nAbout Gendered Intelligence \nGendered Intelligence are a trans led charity working directly with some 500 young trans and gender questioning people from diverse backgrounds across the course of a year\, primarily through their youth groups and 1:1 mentoring services. They train widely across all settings and to date have delivered training to over 30\,000 professionals. They have worked\, for example\, in a variety of local authority settings\, educational settings including schools\, colleges\, universities\, large international commercial organisations\, arts settings\, small charities\, foster care / children’s home settings\, CAMHS and secure mental health settings\, residential clinics\, as well as across the wider statutory\, not-for-profit and commercial sectors. All trainers are professional trainers/facilitators who are also trans identified\, and who have extensive grassroots trans community knowledge \n \n
