DESCRIPTION:Do you have conversations with the residents that may help their understanding and decision on uptake of Vaccinations for them and their family? If so\, why not develop MI skills to support these conversations and more \n  \nMotivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based\, person-centred communication style aimed at having helpful conversations with others about change. \n  \nTower Hamlets Training Hub are pleased to extend this offer to NEL wide staff to introduce this new lively and interactive training. You will learn how to have supportive and effective conversations with others about vaccines. You will also learn about Motivational Interviewing in general which can be used in a range of situations and contexts such as; lifestyle changes\, substance misuse\, long-term conditions and child and family welfare . \nThe 12 hour training will cover; \n\nWhat is Motivational Interviewing and how can it be helpful in situations such as vaccine hesitancy\nHow to engage with people in conversations around change and considering vaccines\nActive listening skills\nHow to identify when someone may be ready to make changes or decide to take a vaccine\nHow to share information in a helpful way which supports partnership\nCollaborative change and action planning\nHow to manage conversations when there are challenges in engagement or barriers to making a decision about vaccines\n\nOn full completion of this training you will get a certificate and the opportunity to complete more advanced training and development in Motivational Interviewing. \nPlease click on the desired cohort below to register a place. This programme was previously known as the Asylum Welcome Design Lab. \nWe are keen to invite local health and care teams (and wider public sector teams who play a role in supporting) to enhance their awareness and understanding of the challenges encountered by people seeking sanctuary. With new dispersal accommodations opening all around London\, this training will equip staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to support the integration of asylum seekers into the community. The training will be delivered in collaboration with REAP (Refugees in Effective and Active Partnership)\, and the pilot session received plenty of positive feedback. The course will provide opportunities to observe and practice the approach in a protected environment. By the end of the course participants will feel able to start using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in their work settings. \nWhat previous attendees have fed back: \n“This training is very useful. DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nWhen: Wednesday 22 November 2023 | 18:30 – 19:30 | Online \nLearning Objectives \nAfter this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand why it is important to review patients on long term and repeat antibiotic treatment for Acne Vulgaris and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)\nImplement the review of long- term antibiotics for acne\nReview patients with repeated courses of antibiotics for COPD to better implement prevention measures to minimise exacerbations\nKnow how to access and use resources to support review of patients on long-term and repeat courses of antibiotics\n\nWho is it for? \nClinicians in the primary care setting including\, but not limited to: \n\nGPs\nGeneral practice/PCN pharmacists and pharmacy technicians\nPractice nurses\nAdvanced clinical practitioners\nCommunity pharmacists\nICB medicines optimisation teams\n\nBackground information: \nAntibiotic use is rising and national outcome framework targets are not being met by many PCNs and ICBs1. Antibiotic resistance can be caused by antibiotic overuse\, and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) efforts are crucial to enhance appropriate antibiotic prescribing\, including the review of patients requiring long term or repeated antibiotics to ensure they are being managed appropriately. \nThis webinar will look at ways your practice can review antimicrobial prescriptions and identify patients who are on long-term or repeat antibiotics for acne or COPD exacerbations. The speakers will discuss how primary care clinicians can review these patients and consider management options using evidence-based\, system-wide interventions.
