SUMMARY:Working With Sibling Sexual Abuse
DESCRIPTION:This training is offered to social care workers\, health care workers and mental health professionals in North East London. \nSexual abuse by a sibling is thought to be the most common form of intra-familial child sexual abuse and is an issue that most care professionals will encounter at some stage. \nUsing the most up to date research in this area we equip delegates with knowledge of the prevalence of sibling sexual abuse\, and an understanding of the nature and impact of the behaviour on both young people and the wider family unit. In order to aid identification we explore the scale of sibling sexual behaviours through normal to problematic and harmful. \nUsing case examples we work through the challenges that this area can throw up for practitioners. We apply theory to practice – looking at assessment considerations\, including when siblings should be separated. We explore interventions that help provide safety\, and support to all family members in order to help them move on from harm and distress \nRegister: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/working-with-sibling-sexual-abuse-tickets-764785432817?aff=odcleoeventsincollection
