SUMMARY:Introduction to the Network Contract Framework for Local Enhanced Services
DESCRIPTION:Dear GP and Practice Manager Colleagues\, \nRe:  Practice Webinar – Network Contract Local Enhanced Service (NC LES) Agreement – 12.30pm – 1.30pm Tuesday 13 December 2022 \nThis email contains important information for Newham & Waltham Forest practices about the new contractual mechanism for delivering Local Enhanced Services with effect from 1 February 2023\, and information on a webinar on 13 December 2022. \nFrom 1 February 2023 LES services\, currently commissioned from Newham & Waltham Forest GP practices through a Supplementary Network Services (SNS) contract\, will be contracted through a Network Contract Local Enhanced Service Agreement (NC LES) with each individual network member practice\, similarly to how the PCN DES is commissioned. \nThe same new contractual mechanism has already been rolled out in Tower Hamlets. \nNewham & Waltham Forest have worked with local and Londonwide LMCs to ensure that the contractual mechanism is fit for purpose\, and is currently finalising the suite of documents that each practice will receive in the New Year. \nIn the meantime\, attached to this email are two core documents for practices to familiarise themselves with. These documents are in final draft form and may be subject to minor amendments between now and issuing the final versions in January\, including personalising them to individual practices: \n\n\nNC LES: the main contractual document that describes how services should be delivered. Click HERE to view and download.\nRecognised Practice Network (RPN) Policy: the concept of RPNs has been introduced to preserve the existing collaborative arrangements between groups of practices to deliver LES’s without relying on the PCN DES or PCN structures i.e. if the PCN DES is decommissioned\, practices can continue to collaborate to deliver LES’s via the NC LES in ways described in the RPN policy. This concept was developed at the request of\, and in partnership with\, Londonwide LMCs. N.B. All existing Newham & Waltham Forest PCNs will automatically be accepted as RPNs under the NC LES agreement. Click HERE to view and download.\n\nIMPORTANT TO NOTE: Services delivered under the NC LES\nPlease be assured that the service specification requirements (and associated payments) that will be included in the NC LES documents are the same as those that practices in Newham & Waltham Forest are currently delivering under the SNS contract.Webinar on 13th December 2022\nA joint webinar will be held for all Newham & Waltham Forest practices on Tuesday 13th December from 12.30pm until 1.30pm to present the reasons for this change\, take practices through the documentation\, and give practices a chance to ask questions. It is strongly recommended that a representative from each practice attends. Please click HERE to register your place\, the joining link will be shared with those registered 24 hours before the event. \nThe webinar will be recorded and uploaded to the Training Hub website shortly after the session. \nThe Integrated Care Board will issue the finalised NC LES documents to Newham & Waltham Forest practices in early January 2023. Practices will be asked to sign up to the terms of the NC LES for a commencement date of 1stFebruary 2023.  \nPractices can raise questions at any time by emailing Becky Mayhew at the NC LES project team on beckymayhew@nhs.net. \nKind regards\nNewham and Waltham Forest Primary Care Team\nNC LES Project Team

If an urgent face to face appointment is needed\, the patient will be offered an appointment at our UTC divert service Essex Lodge. Please do not signpost your patients to Essex Lodge if attending the PLT session. \nPractices should plan for a skeleton service at their premises and patients should be able to access the practice to collect prescriptions\, etc. \nIf you are aware of a member of your practice team who has not received the email invitation\, please advise Johanna North on Johanna.North1@nhs.net who will be happy to ensure that their details are added to the circulation list.

SUMMARY:Cervical Cancer Prevention Training Jo's Trust
DESCRIPTION:We aim to train anyone who wants to help Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust share cervical health messages.\nWe train health care staff (non-clinical staff or healthcare professionals) and people in the community who feel strongly about improving health outcomes for women in their area.\nEvery day in the UK\, 9 women are diagnosed with and 2 women die from cervical cancer. Yet\, cervical cancer is now largely preventable through cervical screening and the HPV vaccine.\nThe number of women attending cervical screening is declining so we need your help to change these statistics and help us reach our goal of eliminating cervical cancer in the UK. \nWhat can we offer you?\n• A free training session\, around 1.5 hours in duration\, tailored to your needs and the populations you work with.\n• A certificate of completion (following our first month evaluation).\n• A session that will raise awareness of cervical cancer and prevention\, and will equip you with the skills\, knowledge and tools you need to communicate key messages. We will also give you space to reflect on how best to engage with your patients to change behaviour and overcome barriers to awareness and screening. You can help us eliminate cervical cancer in the UK!\n• Relevant information and materials. \nWhat do we ask in return?\nWe ask that everyone who receives our training commits to:\n• Sharing key Cervical health messages with 15+ people within 1 month of training.\n• Reporting back on numbers of people reached\, messages shared and any feedback you receive in your 1 month follow up \nWhat you will learn:\nYou will learn about the below topics\, which will enable you to have conversations with people:\n1. What Cervical Cancer is and how it is caused\n2. Warning signs & symptoms of cervical cancer\n3. How Cervical Cancer can be prevented\n4. The barriers women experience to attending screening \nIf you have any more questions about the training or want to make us aware of topics of special interest\, please get in touch with lisa.gates@jostrust.org.uk
