DESCRIPTION:Click here to book your place now! \nREACTMH® training: 60 minutes session (and is also available as a ‘Train the Trainer’ option) \nWhat is REACTMH®?\nREACTMH® is a tool\, developed by experts from March on Stress\, which aims to help supervisors to have psychologically based supportive conversations with a colleague about their mental health. \nWho should complete REACTMH training?\nREACTMH training is recommended for all managers\, supervisors and team leaders\, but  is especially useful for team members who are dealing with repeated exposure to potentially traumatic events (PTEs) or working in stressful environments. \n  \nWhat are the benefits of REACTMH training?\nThis concise active listening skills training session will enable supervisors to identify\, engage with and support people in their teams who may be struggling with their mental health. The training is designed to improve a supervisor’s confidence in initiating supportive wellbeing conversations. \n  \nWhy is REACTMH training important?\nEvidence shows that managers who receive training in identifying the need for\, and develop the confidence to successfully engage in\, supportive mental health and wellbeing conversations with their team members can reduce the risk of longer-term mental ill health by up to 90%.

SUMMARY:Foundations in Motivational Interviewing (MI): “Exploring Motivation and Facilitating Change”(delivered across multiple dates/formats) – funded for NEL staff
DESCRIPTION:Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centred counselling style for addressing the common problem of ambivalence about change. North East London Training Hubs have funded limited places for local Health and Social Care workforce to access these courses. The programme will introduce\, evidence-based skills and strategies to 1) explore people’s ambivalence to change health damaging behaviours and  2) facilitate positive lifestyle change \nThe course will provide opportunities to observe and practice the approach in a protected environment. By the end of the course participants will feel able to start using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in their work settings. The course (equivalent to two days) introduces participants to the theory\, spirit and principles in using MI to help people make positive change. The training will use a range of methods including didactic teaching\, live demonstrations through role play with professional actors\, audio\, video and coaching. The training will aim to create a curiosity to learn more and develop practice. This course delivery team will include a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) who has worked and trained across a wide range of settings.  \nThe course is valued at £200pp\, and this is funded by the Training Hub. It is also CPD accredited and certificates will only be issued following completion of the training. Participants must fully attend all parts of the course and ensure you have a working microphone and camera. Late comers will not be allowed entry. SUMMARY:Giving out Normal Blood Test
DESCRIPTION:This 2 hour workshop delivered virtually aims to support non clinical reception and administrative staff to confidently give out normal blood results. The workshop is based on the Bromley By Bow Health partnership training where in the initial 3 months post training they had saved around 50-60 appointments. Audit had revealed 100% accuracy giving out results (ie those patients that were told the results were normal did actually have normal results and no one was falsely told this). Feedback from staff has been positive\, including improved staff and patient satisfaction and reduction on call volumes from clinicians. \nLearner on the course will be able to:\n· Learn how to give out normal blood results as well as other tests including scans\, swabs\, urine and more to patients safely. DESCRIPTION:Click here to book your place now! \nREACTMH® training: 60 minutes session (and is also available as a ‘Train the Trainer’ option) \nWhat is REACTMH®?\nREACTMH® is a tool\, developed by experts from March on Stress\, which aims to help supervisors to have psychologically based supportive conversations with a colleague about their mental health. \nWho should complete REACTMH training?\nREACTMH training is recommended for all managers\, supervisors and team leaders\, but  is especially useful for team members who are dealing with repeated exposure to potentially traumatic events (PTEs) or working in stressful environments. \n  \nWhat are the benefits of REACTMH training?\nThis concise active listening skills training session will enable supervisors to identify\, engage with and support people in their teams who may be struggling with their mental health. The training is designed to improve a supervisor’s confidence in initiating supportive wellbeing conversations. \n  \nWhy is REACTMH training important?\nEvidence shows that managers who receive training in identifying the need for\, and develop the confidence to successfully engage in\, supportive mental health and wellbeing conversations with their team members can reduce the risk of longer-term mental ill health by up to 90%.

It is a system of ‘triage’ carried out at the first point of contact with the GP Practice by non-clinical staff under direction of the clinical team. \nRed Flag early recognition of the sick patient is to be encouraged\, throughout our health care services to ensure the care received is appropriate to the illness. Front line staff booking in and monitoring busy waiting rooms need the knowledge on recognising the unwell or deteriorating patient to ensure urgent care is summoned if required. \nThere are numerous drivers for this patient centred approach and outcomes will include a more streamlined clinical workload\, improving efficiencies in terms of access to services and patient satisfaction. It will achieve this by releasing valuable clinical time and resources. Staff will actively manage requests for GP appointments and safely redirect inappropriate consultations to the most appropriate care provider. Applying the RIGHT PERSON RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME approach. \nThis workshop is aimed at GP reception staff and HCAs\, who work face to face or via telephone booking patients in or HCAs doing the initial triage/observations.
