SUMMARY:Become a qualified Mental Health First Aider (2 full days)
DESCRIPTION:Monday 20th February & Monday 6th March 2023\nMental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify\, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist\, but it will teach you to listen\, reassure and respond\, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. You’ll learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health\, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.\n**face to face** \nMUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS TO BE CERTIFIED \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nThe standard cost of this course is £325.00 per person. This is being funded by North East London Training Hub in collaboration with the NEL Integrated Care Board. The £325.00 course cost will be enforced for failure to turn up or cancellations within 48-hours of the course start date. You can book a funded place if you work or study in the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham\, Hackney\, City of London\, Havering\, Newham\, Redbridge\, Tower Hamlets & Waltham Forest. You will be expected to participate in the evaluation process of the programme. This would include completing feedback survey at the end of the survey and post 10-12 weeks impact assessment survey. This will help us understand the impact of the training and also help make required quality improvement \nWhat previous attendees have fed back: \n“This course was very helpful. The trainer was great. The information she gave was spot on I will definitely recommend this course to others. Thank you very much”\n“Great training\, lots of information in two days .Love the manual to take away.”\n“Inspired interesting conversations amongst the group and everyone who took part brilliantly contributed. I feel confident to talk about the course with my colleagues and to talk about the issues raised – working to destigmatise mental ill health and how to feel confident in providing initial support. Thank you very much.”

SUMMARY:A Race Equality Week Event - In conversation with Sandra Kerr CBE
DESCRIPTION:Race Equality Week is an annual UK-wide movement uniting thousands of organisations and individuals to address the barriers to race equality in the workplace. The theme for 2023 is #ItsEveryonesBusiness because tackling race inequality is everyone’s business. \nWe are privileged to have Sandra Kerr CBE join us to drive this conversation. \nSandra Kerr CBE works together with business leaders and government policy makers to influence action on race in the UK. \nPrior to working at Business in the Community Sandra worked for DWP and the Cabinet Office. Between 2012 and 2016\, Sandra chaired the DWP Ethnic Minority Employment Stakeholder Group\, advising the Government on employment barriers facing individuals from ethnically diverse backgrounds. \nMore than 24\,000 responses to the Race at Work surveys in 2015\, 2018 and 2021 provided the evidence to establish the Race at Work Charter which now has more than 950 employer signatories. Sandra sits on the Royal Society Diversity Committee\, the Office of National Statistics (ONS) Strategic Advisory Board and the Cabinet Office Race Board. In 2022 and 2023 Sandra is collaborating with Professors from Queen Mary University and University of Birmingham reviewing thematic insights and rends emerging from the Race at Work 2015\, 2018 and 2021 surveys. \nSandra is a big advocate of mentorship\, sponsorship and allyship. \nCome and be educated\, empowered and inspired. \nTo register click Here
