Well just try our FREE training workshop and see for yourself.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur FREE Deaf Awareness training is a great opportunity for you and your staff to break down the barriers that most deaf people face by developing Deaf Awareness and accessibility.\nWHY DO YOU NEED TO BE DEAF AWARE?\nDid you know that in the UK\, 1 in 6 people have some degree of hearing loss? that’s about 10 million people!\nBeing deaf aware is a great way to promote inclusion and improve access for all deaf people and those with a hearing loss.\nOur workshop will introduce the issues and barriers faced by deaf people and in turn highlight strategies to improve your understanding of the challenges facing Deaf people.\nHOW WILL THIS BENEFIT ME?\nEDS aims to ensure all participants gain the best experience possible to support them in understanding Deaf Awareness.\nParticipants will come away with easy to remember communication tips and some basic knowledge of some British Sign Language all of which can be instantly put to use in their workplace improving support to those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.\nThis will ensure more effective communication with colleagues\, customers and service users who are affected with a hearing loss\, in activities and everyday situations.\nWHO ARE EMPOWERING DEAF SOCIETY?\nWe are a deaf-led Charity based in East London\, dedicated to improving the quality of life for deaf people. Our aim is to ensure that the standards of Access improve for deaf people. DESCRIPTION:Registration Link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/overview-of-huntingtons-disease-for-care-staff-tickets-1366843077439?aff=erelpanelorg \nStudy session for professionals supporting someone with Huntington’s disease.\nThis study session is aimed at professionals supporting someone with Huntington’s disease either at home or in a care setting and will give a general overview of Huntington’s disease. \nWe will cover topics such as: \nWhat is Huntington’s disease? \nWhat are the symptoms? \nWhat might help when supporting someone who has Huntington’s disease? \nThere will be opportunities for questions. The programme is set up to equip staff on various tools and techniques to support self care and wellness. Please share this across your teams. \nOFFER 1: Monthly Lunchtime wellbeing webinars\nNEL Training Hub are pleased to offer monthly staff wellbeing webinars. All primary care staff are invited to these lunch time sessions aiming to equip staff on various tools and techniques to support self care and wellness. \nQi Gong\nGentle mindful movement for physical and mental relaxation. This practice helps to energise the body\, release stress and increase overall feelings of wellbeing.\nThurs 19th Sept\, 1200 – 1300\nThurs 18th Dec\, 1300 – 1400\nBOOK NOW \nGuided Mindfulness\nGuided relaxation to soothe the nervous system. This session has been specifically created for staff to reduce the impact of ‘fight/flight/freeze’ responses that occur in our bodies in times of stress. These ‘stressors’ can be internal (health) and/or external. You will learn techniques to raise your level of body awareness to invite relaxation into your system and build energy reserves.\nWeds 22nd Oct\, 1300 – 1400\nBOOK NOW \nBody Wisdom\nThis session will empower staff with techniques to bring relief\, reduce pain and improve function around physical postures and movement.
