DESCRIPTION:North London Community House\, 22 Moorefield Road\, London\, N17 6PY \nWe are pleased to invite you to an upcoming dissemination event for a research project by University of Leicester around building trust in medical research with ethnic minority communities. \nThis event will focus on sharing key findings from the recent co-produced research\, which explored mistrust\, and reasons for not participating in medical research. The event will present on the co-produced solutions which developed collaboratively with different communities across England. DESCRIPTION:(CPD FOR GPNS\, NAS\, DIETICIANS\, PARAMEDICS\, PHYSIOTHERAPISTS\, PODIATRISTS AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS) \n15 CPD Hours \nDates:\n\n18th November & 19th November or\n\n\n31st March & 1st April 2026 – 09:00-17:00\n\nTime of Training: 09:00 – 17:00\nPlease make sure that you are eligible for this training before starting to fill in the form – you MUST have completed your Immunsation Foundation training and had your competency signed off to do this course. \nREGISTRATION LINK \n  \n\n\n\nThese courses are fully funded\, therefore please ensure you read the cancellation and DNA policy carefully before booking.\nThese courses are for the following job roles only:  \n\nGeneral Practice Nurses (including ANP & ACP) \nNurse Associates \nDieticians \nOccupational Therapists\nParamedics \nPhysiotherapists \nPodiatrists \n\nBooking Information  \nTicket sales for all events close 2 weeks prior to the start of the session.  \nYou will be asked to sign up to MedTribe if you would like to book a course. SUMMARY:NEL CPD: Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment Training

Course is open to all staff working in health and social care in North East London. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centred counselling style for addressing the common problem of ambivalence about change. The programme will introduce\, evidence-based skills and strategies to 1) explore people’s ambivalence to change health damaging behaviours and 2) facilitate positive lifestyle change \nThe course will provide opportunities to observe and practice the approach in a protected environment. By the end of the course participants will feel able to start using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in their work settings. The course (equivalent to two days) introduces participants to the theory\, spirit and principles in using MI to help people make positive change. The training will use a range of methods including didactic teaching\, live demonstrations through role play with professional actors\, audio\, video and coaching. The training will aim to create a curiosity to learn more and develop practice. This course delivery team will include a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) who has worked and trained across a wide range of settings. \nParticipants must fully attend all parts of the course and ensure you have a working microphone and camera (if being delivered online). Late comers will not be allowed entry. The course is delivered via Zoom platform\, and learners should ensure device and network enables this prior to registering. Joining instruction will be circulated 48 hours prior to the delivery dates. \nWhat previous attendees have feedback: \n‘This training is perfect for my role -in facilitating new assessments and I am thankful for participating in MI training’ \n‘Really enjoyed this course.  Reflection on own practice – a lot of thought provoking areas that I need to change.  e.g. using more open questions compared to closed’ \n‘Mindful communication\, person centred\, empathetic.. all of the MI techniques and the spirit!
