DESCRIPTION:This training is offered to social care workers\, health care workers and mental health professionals in North East London. \nThis course provides a general overview of trauma and the impacts this has on children and young people. Staff members will develop a general knowledge on the different types of trauma alongside an understanding of traumatic responses and how to manage these. Trainees will develop tools to support children and young people with managing emotional regulation and gain a greater understanding of the impacts of trauma and PTSD on the body\, beliefs\, and communities. We explore the relationship between trauma & intersectionality\, and the benefits of putting words to traumatic events. Joining instructions will be send 48 hours prior to delivery date** \nTrainer Bio – Sarah Tahsildar\nSarah is a Qualified Social Worker and has over 15 years’ experience of working in the health and social care sector\, including domestic abuse services\, children centres\, adoption and fostering teams and homelessness services. Sarah now works as a Learning and Development Practitioner\, and the Mental Health faculty Lead for ‘Training for Mental Health’. Sarah has in recent years led on the delivery of Mental Health & Suicide Prevention training to the workforce of North East London. She is a licensed trainer of many national and internationally accredited programmes including Mental Health First Aid packages for Adult and Youth\, safeTALK\, ASIST\, Suicide First Aid and The ASK (assessing suicide in kids) Workshop. SUMMARY:Workplace Violence and Aggression - Supporting the Trainer Workshop
DESCRIPTION:A workshop to help you support your trainees’ following incidents of workplace violence and aggression. Open to multiprofessional educators from primary and secondary care \nWorkplace violence and aggression can be common in the healthcare setting and can have a significant impact on the individual resulting in anxiety\, depression and PTSD. It can leave staff questioning their competence\, confidence\, organisation and willingness to continue in the role. The majority of trainees will report workplace violence and aggression to their supervisor; the supervisor/educator’s response and follow-up can have a significant mitigation on the impact of workplace violence and aggression for the trainee. \nThis workshop highlights the types\, occurrence\, risk factors and impact of workplace violence and aggression through survey data and case studies. It includes discussion on trauma informed work\, practical application and pathways for trainee support which could be implemented locally.
