By giving you the tools to have these conversations\, we hope to empower you to create a mentally healthy\, supportive environment in your family\, school\, peer group or community. \nLet’s create a future where mental health is treated as a normal part of life\, in the same way as physical health. A future where every young person has access to support if they need it. \nThis full course qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider\, giving you: \n\nAn in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing\nPractical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues\nConfidence to reassure and support a young person in distress\nEnhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening\nKnowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites\, their place of learning\, the NHS\, or a mix – engaging with parents\, carers and external agencies where appropriate\nAbility to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive\nTools to look after your own mental wellbeing\n\nHow is the course delivered? SUMMARY:Cervical Cancer Prevention Training Jo's Trust
DESCRIPTION:We aim to train anyone who wants to help Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust share cervical health messages.\nWe train health care staff (non-clinical staff or healthcare professionals) and people in the community who feel strongly about improving health outcomes for women in their area.\nEvery day in the UK\, 9 women are diagnosed with and 2 women die from cervical cancer. Yet\, cervical cancer is now largely preventable through cervical screening and the HPV vaccine.\nThe number of women attending cervical screening is declining so we need your help to change these statistics and help us reach our goal of eliminating cervical cancer in the UK. \nWhat can we offer you?\n• A free training session\, around 1.5 hours in duration\, tailored to your needs and the populations you work with.\n• A certificate of completion (following our first month evaluation).\n• A session that will raise awareness of cervical cancer and prevention\, and will equip you with the skills\, knowledge and tools you need to communicate key messages. We will also give you space to reflect on how best to engage with your patients to change behaviour and overcome barriers to awareness and screening. You can help us eliminate cervical cancer in the UK!\n• Relevant information and materials. \nWhat do we ask in return?\nWe ask that everyone who receives our training commits to:\n• Sharing key Cervical health messages with 15+ people within 1 month of training.\n• Reporting back on numbers of people reached\, messages shared and any feedback you receive in your 1 month follow up \nWhat you will learn:\nYou will learn about the below topics\, which will enable you to have conversations with people:\n1. What Cervical Cancer is and how it is caused\n2. Warning signs & symptoms of cervical cancer\n3. How Cervical Cancer can be prevented\n4. The barriers women experience to attending screening \nIf you have any more questions about the training or want to make us aware of topics of special interest\, please get in touch with lisa.gates@jostrust.org.uk

SUMMARY:Understanding and addressing the changing health needs of people living with diabetes
DESCRIPTION:The number of people living with diabetes\, and particularly type 2 diabetes is growing\, with the total number expected to be approximately 700 million worldwide by 2030. Those living with diabetes are generally living longer but with an increasingly broad range of conditions impacting their health and lives. Many of these conditions are not part of routine clinical and prevention guidelines. \nRecent research has found that in addition to well-established complications of diabetes such as heart disease and stroke\, broader conditions such as back pain\, osteoarthritis and depression are increasingly common in those living with type 2 diabetes. There is an urgent need to better understand the impact of increasing multiple long-term conditions (multimorbidity) and the evolving needs of patient groups in order to address inequalities and deliver increasingly patient-centred and holistic care. \nHow can health systems adapt to the changing health needs of people living with diabetes to improve health and reduce inequalities? \nJoin our webinar where we will explore these issues\, emerging data and current efforts to address these challenges. \nChaired by Dame Sally Davies\, our panellists include: \nProfessor Jonathan Valabhji\nNational Clinical Director for Diabetes and Obesity\nNHS England \nDr Jonathan Pearson-Stuttard\nHead of Health Analytics\nLCP \nHelen Kirrane\nHead of Policy\, Campaigns and Mobilisation\nDiabetes UK \nRegister here: https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/3951478/4554882256594FB919FDE608491E1EE2
