SUMMARY:Creative Health in North East London Symposium
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nJoin us at Redbridge Town Hall for Creative Health in North-East London symposium on Tuesday 25th February\, 1.30-4.30pm. \nNorth-East London (NEL) is home to a vibrant\, highly skilled\, and impactful creative health sector\, with practitioners and organisations working together to improve the health of local people. Much of this work actively supports an integrated neighborhood approach\, whilst delivering many of NHS North-East London’s public health priorities\, including starting\, living\, and ageing well. \n– \nWhat is Creative Health? \nCreative health refers to cultural approaches and activities which have benefits for our health and wellbeing. This can include visual and performing arts\, crafts\, film\, literature\, cooking and creative activities in nature such as gardening. It may involve creative and innovative ways to approach health and care services\, co-production\, education\, and workforce development. \nCASE STUDY: Hoxton Creative Health Hub convening local partners including creative health with primary care network\, community navigators and social prescribers to raise awareness and to work together to increase referrals. \n– \nWe invite those working in health and care across City & Hackney; Newham; Tower Hamlets; Waltham Forest; Redbridge; Barking and Dagenham; and Havering\, to an inspiring afternoon of partnership building. \nCo-hosted by champion beatboxer and MC Zani\, with opening remarks from Chief Medical Officer Dr Paul Gilluley and lived experience practitioner Shiv Sharma\, this interactive event will be an opportunity to: \n\nConnect with colleagues across sectors\n\n\nLearn about the creative health sector’s role in reducing health inequalities.\n\n\nCelebrate brilliant creative health initiatives happening across the seven boroughs of North East London\n\nOur agenda includes opportunities to network\, context-setting\, testimonials of lived experiences\, examples of best practice\, and a session exploring next steps in promoting greater partnerships across NEL. \nPlease note that this event is aimed at those currently working across health\, care\, and creative health in the boroughs of North East London. For this reason\, tickets are categorized by sector. Spaces are limited and we kindly ask that you let us know if you need to cancel. \nThis event is being delivered by NHS North East London’s Health Equity Academy thanks to generous funding from the National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH)\, and Arts Council England. It has been designed with and supported by the GLA\, London Arts and Health\, Queen Mary University of Londonand UCL East. It forms part of the NCCH Creative Health Associates Programme.
