SUMMARY:Health Literacy Awareness Online Session
DESCRIPTION:October is Health Literacy Awareness month and like last year NHS libraries across NEL  are teaming up to deliver a programme of sessions. \nNationally\, 61% of adults struggle to understand health information that contains both words and numbers. In some areas of North East London the figure is nearly 80% (see Geodata – Health Literacy). This has huge implications for individuals and for our Integrated Care System. \n\nThese sessions will build participants’ awareness of personal and organisational health literacy\, review local and national statistics related to the health literacy levels of our patient population\, and explore tools that can be used to improve communication of health information. \nThis training is provided through a collaboration between several North East London NHS Knowledge & Library Services: Barking\, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust\, Barts Health NHS Trust\, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust\, and NELFT. \nTo book click\, on one of the dates below. When the page loads and scroll down\, click on the “begin registration” button and complete the registration form: \nThursday\, 2nd October (2:00-3:00 PM)\nTuesday\, 7th October (12:30-1:30 PM)\nThursday\, 9th October (2:00-3:00 PM)\nMonday\, 13th October (2:00-3:00 PM)\nWednesday\, 15th October (10:00-11:00 AM)\nTuesday\, 21st October (12:30-1:30 PM)
