DESCRIPTION:**THIS SESSION IS FOR PRACTICES FROM NEL ICB* ONLY*\n\n\n**THIS SESSION IS FOR PRACTICES FROM NEL ICB* ONLY* \nNEL GP IT Training is offering new starter training for your staff in order to support and induct them when joining your team. \nThe session is designed to demonstrate the basic functionality of the EMIS clinical system that learners will use in their day to day role. \n** We recommend if you are new to EMIS you register for EMIS New User Admin prior to attending this session.** \nDetails of topics covered can found below. \nPlease note eRS referrals will not be covered in this session\, training on this topic can be arranged separately with the GP IT Training team. \nThe following topics will be covered: \n\nlogging onto EMIS Web including Smart Card use\nOverview of EMIS and how to navigate the system\nFind Patient\nAppointment book\nRegistering a new patient\nOverview of the Care Record including how to find data\, print patient summary\nAdding notes into the Care Record\nMedications and medication requests\nTasks (briefly)\nQ&As\n\nAll attendees will receive a certificate at the end of the course to show they have attended a basic skills course. Course timings are slightly flexible depending on the number of learners and learning rate of all attendees.

DESCRIPTION:Target Audience: All practice staff working in NEL \nThis session is designed to brief practice teams on the new NEL wide service from community pharmacies designed to support pharmacy first referrals from practices to pharmacies and facilitate access to free OTC medicines for those eligible for the service. \n\nThe main objectives of the Community Pharmacy Selfcare Advice Service are:\n\nTo complement and aid implementation of the nationally commissioned Pharmacy First Service\, with the provision of free-of-charge OTC medicines for eligible patients\nTo reduce the number of GP appointments and/or A&E attendances for conditions related to specific minor ailments\nTo help address health inequalities through MECC (Making Every Contact Count) interventions d)For eligible residents to have access to timely advice and support on health and wellbeing (which will also include signposting to other relevant services)\n\n\nFor City & Hackney only: This service replaces the Health First Pharmacy (HFP) Minor AilmentsService (MAS)\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Pharmacy First has been developed and rolled out successfully both nationally and within NEL. To allow GPs to create additional capacity giving them more time and focus to see patients who would otherwise be required to wait longer for appointments. \nTo enable pharmacist to utilise their skills and knowledge to further service the local community instead of booking GP appointments for minor illness and common conditions.
