SUMMARY:Working with Child Sexual Abuse
DESCRIPTION:This training is offered to social care workers\, health care workers and mental health professionals in North East London. \nSexual violence or abuse against children represents a major public health and social welfare problem within UK society\, thought to affect about 18% of children under 16\, that is over 2 million children. We also know that sexual violence or abuse against children is greatly under-identified and reported. The series of webinars are designed to support immunisers to fulfil the requirement for annual immunisation updates and are free to access. The webinar series has been running since September 2018 and a programme has been designed for 2024 incorporating 10 topics focused on the learning needs of immunisers in primary care.  The monthly webinars will begin in March and run until January 2025 (excluding August 2024). Immunisers are welcome to attend all webinars to achieve five hours of recorded learning in 2024 or to select webinars relevant to their work or based on their practice/learning needs. \n\nHow does it work? \n\nwebinars will be provided monthly featuring a specific topic\nrepeat webinars will run each month\, offering a choice of date and time (three choices- please sign up for one only)\ntime will be allocated in each session for questions from delegates\ncertificates of attendance will be sent following delegate evaluation\n\n\nWho can attend the webinar? \n\nany competent immuniser working in a primary care setting who requires update training and works in London\n\n\nWhat do I need to do? \n\nselect the webinar/s you wish to attend and register at the links below\neach delegate must register to attend the webinar individually\ninstructions on how to join the webinar (phone-in or Teams) will be sent 3-5 days prior to the webinar\nplease ensure you have time in your diary to set up Teams/dial in beforehand

During the course\, you will cover a variety of different topics including numbers & time\, home and travel and the beginnings of a conversation. \nCourse outcomes:\nBy the end of the course\, learners will: \n• Have an awareness and understanding of Deaf culture\n• Understand the barriers faced by people with hearing loss\n• Feel confident about communicating with people who are deaf or have hearing loss\n• Understand that regions within the UK use different signs for words\n• Be able to recognise and sign the alphabet and numbers\n• Be able to ask and recognise and sign questions e.g. what\, why\, who\, whose\, how\, how much\, when?\n• Be able to sign basic greetings and the beginning of conversations \nDate: Every Wednesday for six weeks – (All dates must be attended) \nWednesday 5th June\nWednesday 12th June\nWednesday 19th June\nWednesday 26th June\nWednesday 3rd July\nWednesday 10th July \nTime: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm \nVenue: The Enabled Living Lounge\, 200 Chargeable Lane\, Plaistow E13 8DW \nCancellation and non-attendance:\nThis course is fully funded by Enabled Living however failure to attend all six dates will incur a £50.00 cancellation charge.
