DESCRIPTION:Teesside University in association with North East London Training Hub will be offering trauma informed care workshops. The workshops will be delivered online for three hours and will begin at 10am.  \nThe content of the workshop includes sources of trauma\, impact of trauma\, secondary and vicarious trauma\, maintaining your own psychological wellbeing\, how to gain confidence in talking about trauma\, and handling disclosures. SUMMARY:Foundations in Motivational Interviewing (MI): “Exploring Motivation and Facilitating Change”(delivered across multiple dates/formats) – funded for NEL staff
DESCRIPTION:Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centred counselling style for addressing the common problem of ambivalence about change. North East London Training Hubs have funded limited places for local Health and Social Care workforce to access these courses. The programme will introduce\, evidence-based skills and strategies to 1) explore people’s ambivalence to change health damaging behaviours and  2) facilitate positive lifestyle change \nThe course will provide opportunities to observe and practice the approach in a protected environment. By the end of the course participants will feel able to start using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in their work settings. The course (equivalent to two days) introduces participants to the theory\, spirit and principles in using MI to help people make positive change. The training will use a range of methods including didactic teaching\, live demonstrations through role play with professional actors\, audio\, video and coaching. The training will aim to create a curiosity to learn more and develop practice. This course delivery team will include a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) who has worked and trained across a wide range of settings.  \nThe course is valued at £200pp\, and this is funded by the Training Hub. It is also CPD accredited and certificates will only be issued following completion of the training. Participants must fully attend all parts of the course and ensure you have a working microphone and camera. Late comers will not be allowed entry. The below cohorts are being delivered via Zoom platform\, and learners should ensure device and network enables this prior to registering. SUMMARY:Reducing pressure on primary care and improving patient outcomes through proactive personalised care
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will support colleagues in primary care to understand how to implement personalised proactive care\, using a targeted approach to reduce reliance on clinical input through improved biopsychosocial support. It will explain how to make best use of the skills and expertise of social prescribing link workers\, health and wellbeing coaches and care co-ordinators to tackle population health needs. It will include examples from London and Dorset where primary care networks that are using targeted approaches to increase people’s ability to self manage and address their wider social and economic needs\, reducing reliance on GP appointments. \nThe webinar will also highlight the proactive social prescribing service set out in the network contact DES\, and the ongoing recruitment of social prescribing link workers\, health and wellbeing coaches and care co-ordinators through the ARRS. \nHow to register \nTo attend\, please ensure you register by 10am on Tuesday 5th September 2023. \nThe webinar will take place through MS Teams Live and all registered attendees will be emailed a joining link closer to the time of the event taking place.
