DESCRIPTION:FOR North East London Social Prescribing Managers\, and Social Prescribing Link Workers\, Mental Health Community Connectors (ELFT & NELFT)\, and similar Personalised Care roles\,\n\nOver recent years your feedback and reporting have shown that a significant proportion of social prescribing and those with mental health issues also have issues with housing\, welfare benefits claims\, debt\, cost of living and similar issues.\n\nThis free training has been specially designed for social prescribing link workers and similar roles\, such as mental health community connectors and others\, in the North East London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham\, City & Hackney\, Havering\, Newham\, Redbridge\, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.\n\nIt will equip you with a greater understanding of these issues\, how to ask your clients about them and how to support your clients to access the right advice in your borough. Housing Lettings & Medical Priority\n\nOn-line (Zoom) Thursday 3rd July 10am to 1pm\n\n\n\nSuitable for those whose clients who are seeking to access social housing. The aim of this course is to gain an understanding of how social housing is allocated.\n\n Objectives:\n\n\n\nIdentify and understand rules on the allocation of social housing\n\n\nBe able to know how to check how the social housing is applied for and allocated in your borough of work\n\n\nBe able to understand how to check how medical priority could affect your clients housing allocation application\n\n\nDiscuss and consider ways to manage your clients’ expectations\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n4. SUMMARY:Supporting primary care to deliver earlier diagnosis for suspected bowel cancer patients
DESCRIPTION:Join Bowel Cancer UK’s first ever primary care virtual education event on Thursday 19 June 2025\, delivered online via Zoom\, 6.30 – 7.30pm. The session will be led by Claire Coughlan\, Clinical Lead at Bowel Cancer UK and Nurse Consultant in colorectal cancer at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Claire will be joined by Dr Anisha Patel who will deliver a short session exploring cancer care reviews within primary care.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe session will provide an overview of colorectal cancer\, its risk factors and red flag symptoms. As well as the use of FIT in symptomatic patients within primary care and the bowel cancer screening programme as a route to diagnosis.
