NHS England WT&E Independent Prescribing Training 2024/25 Offers – Spring 2025 intake applications dates

National Independent Prescribing Training Offer 2024/25

The application windows have opened or will shortly open for most independent prescriber training providers for Spring 2025 intakes.

Pharmacists can apply to any university, including those that are in a different region to where they live or work. As London has limited GPhC accredited IP training providers, we would advise learners and employers to consider course options outside the London region.

Learners, their DPPs and employers are advised to carefully review course eligibility and application requirements to ensure they meet these before applying.

Information regarding the national IP training offer is available on the NHS England WT&E website here. Application dates for suppliers outside of the London region are available on the individual university website, see here for the list of approved suppliers.

UCL March 2025 intake:

University College London (UCL) are the only London-based approved provider for NHS England IP nationally funded training. Further information on the UCL course is available on the UCL website.

  • Applications open on Monday 9th December 2024 and close at 9am on Monday 20th January 2025.

Pharmacists from the following groups are eligible for the UCL course:

  • Community pharmacists (including locum pharmacists); Pharmacists employed in General Practice (who are not eligible for, or enrolled on, the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Programme (PCPEP) and those who are working to provide primary care services (e.g., working in primary care who are not employed in ARRS roles); and Health and Justice pharmacists.
  • Pharmacists working in an NHS Hospital Trusts or Mental Health Trusts (NHS managed sector); pharmacists working in an integrated care board (ICB, previously CCG pharmacists).

Pharmacists working in other sectors of care can access independent prescribing training offers through the other NHS England Workforce Training & Education Independent Prescribing approved suppliers.
